Colorado Springs Favorites
This past March marked a year and a half of living in Colorado Springs…
I absolutely love it here in this little (but growing) city. Quarantine hasn’t been too bad since there are so many beautiful places to explore right here on the front range. What better time than a global pandemic to share? Here are my local faves in the Colorado Springs (and greater) area…not in any order.

Garden of the Gods
When family or friends are in town, it’s a must. I mean, come on. Unless you’re from Utah or Mars, these beautiful red rocks just aren’t normal. Parking and entry is free! Be sure to check out the awesome paths outside of the immediate tourist area for great trail runs by using my favorite app: AllTrails.
The Manitou Incline
It’s love-hate relationship. After 2,744 steps and 2,000 ft of elevation gain, you’ll never deserve a beer more. If you’re looking for both a workout and a view, the incline will satisfy, I promise. On the way down, run Bar Trail to save your knees! Parking is a little tricky on busy days, but try to snag a street spot in Manitou Springs and enjoy brunch and coffee after.
Seven Falls
I first visited Seven Falls around Christmas and everything was decorated like the North Pole. Cutest thing ever! Seven Falls is owned by the Broadmoor and due to the limited parking, you shuttle in. You can get tickets and details here. Make sure you go at night and see the falls lit up, especially when its freezing temperatures!
Pike’s Peak
Weather you’re looking to hike a 14er or take a beautiful drive, Pike’s Peak is the move. I love it because it serves as a centering point no matter you are in the Springs. Plus, I can see it from my front porch and its usually covered in snow. :’) She pretty.
Glen Eyrie Castle
Near Garden of the Gods, there is this gorgeous castle called Glen Eyrie. I drove by on a snowday and it was magical! It would be cool to photograph it in all the seasons and see how it changes. You can also book a tour of the castle here.
Rampart Reservoir
As much as I love the dry climate in Colorado, I find myself wanting to be near water. Although you can’t swim in this reservoir, you can paddle board and kayak all day. There are several campsites around it you can find here. Plus, the drive up itself is the best and perfect date night material. It feels like you’re far away without having to be.
Paint Mines
If you’re down for a little road trip, about 45 minutes east of Colorado Springs are these gorgeous orange and pink spires called the Paint Mines. Perfect for lazy Sunday drive or photoshoot.
So to be honest, those are all the places I have decent photos of right now, haha, but absolutely not all Colorado Springs has to offer! The US Air Force Academy, Old Colorado City, 11 Mile Canyon State Park, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Cave of the Winds, The Broadmoor, Red Rocks Open Space, and soon the Olympic Museum, are all amazing - just to name a few! Did you know that by 2050 Colorado Springs is projected to exceed Denver in population? Craziness. I’ll follow this post up with favorite places to eat and drink in Colorado Springs soon. From Colorado Springs, with love,
